Fight Antibiotic Resistant Bugs

Antibiotic Resistant Bugs are on the rise – and have become a serious public health concern, worldwide.[1]

As part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle to support the immune system against antibiotic resistant infections such as C.DIFF (Clostridium Difficile), which all too commonly are found in hospitals and long-term care facilities.[ 2]

In a recent clinical study regarding Clostridum difficile diarrhea incidence and mortality the findings concluded that:
“Lactobacilli/bifidobacteria probiotics may provide a safe and efficacious means for reducing incidence of CDAD in many patients. Given the substantial morbidity, mortality, and costs associated with CDAD, additional research into efficacy and putative mechanisms that underlie the protective effects of probiotic supplements is warranted. Numerous patients would benefit if this hypothesis is proven true, and in turn, morbidity, mortality, and economic burden would be diminished.”

Another clinical study found that
“Lactobacillus GG peptides exert an anti-bacterial activity not only on gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria growth, but also on strains with multi-antibiotic resistance. These results suggest that probiotics or their derivative peptides can be effective alternative treatments for infections caused by multi-drug resistant bacteria.”

Remember…even though a probiotic is able to survive stomach acids, it still needs to be able to colonize to have a positive probiotic effect.
